Renee Alway: 'America's Next Top Model' Finalist In Custody For SWAT Team Stand-Off, Burglary and Narcotics

She's best known for her role as a finalist on Cycle 8 of "America's Next Top Model," but former reality star Renee Alway is now making headlines for something much darker, as the model remains in custody after her arrest following a six-hour police standoff, the Daily Mail reports.

Alway was arrested on June 28 for investigation of burglary, fraud, narcotics possession, and committing a felony while on bail, among other charges. Palm Springs police officers reponded to a report of a suspicious woman walking around a neighborhood, and spotted a condominium with its back door open. Neighbors told the officers that the residents of the condo were out of the country, and police found Alway hiding in the garage allegedly armed with a gun.

Authorities also believe an armed man was in the condo, and the SWAT team was called in for a six-hour stand-off before finally arresting Alway. The star remains at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, her bail set at $150,000.

On Thursday, Alway was scheduled to appear in court for a drug evaluation, as she was also arrested on June 2 for possession of narcotics, petty theft and fraud. The star pleaded not guilty after being released on bail, resulting in her current charge of committing a felony while on bail following her latest arrest.

This is the third time this year Alway has been arrested, Sgt. Kyle Stjerne told KTLA News in Los Angeles, though he did not give out any specifics of her other alleged crimes.

Fans speculate that the star is struggling with drug addiction and little money to support herself.
