Kyle Massey Cancer: Actor Denies He's Dying From Disease, Calls Rumors ‘Classless, Insensitive’

Several rumors have been circulating around on the Internet lately. The most recent one is that actor Kyle Massey is dying from cancer. According to E! News the rumor began attracting attention after several people posted the devastating news on Twitter but it is completely false.

The former "That's So Raven" star's rep confirmed to E! that his client was healthy and fine but very upset about the rumor.

"Kyle Massey is not dying from cancer and does not have cancer," his rep told E! News. "This is a very serious disease and he's upset that someone would make light of such a serious subject. He has been affected personally from the disease as he has had family members who have passed away from cancer."

Massey himself also addressed the mews telling E! that he though the rumor was "insensitive."

"I don't know where this inconsiderate and insensitive rumor originated from," he said. "Cancer is a disease that is very personal to me and my family. I have had two uncles and a very deal friend who passed away in the last two years from cancer and my Granddad currently has prostate cancer and my Grandmother is currently in a nursing home because of Alzheimer's disease. So, making light of any illnesses that a person has no control over getting is not something to joke about or make light of!"

It's not clear how the rumor began but Massey is one of several celebrities that have been victims of cruel hoaxes. Recently Jackie Chan was the victim of a death hoax and Steve Irwin's daughter, Bindi Irwin, was also rumored to have died.

"My team and I are making every attempt to find out the original source of this story because it's just not cool," he continued. "I support children's Hospital of Los Angeles through Disney Channel and Britti Cares International in support of children with various diseases and illnesses and donate my time with pride and dignity. This hoax is just plain classless! Especially in light of the various tragedies happening this weekend and the Trayvon Martin verdict."

Massey has been very active on Twitter tweeting and posting pictures a recent trip he took Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
