Pretty Little Liars "Gamma Zeta Die" Recap: Hannah's Stupidity

On last week’s episode of “Pretty Little Liars,” “Gamma Zeta Die” Spencer and Emily head to Cicero College to follow up on a lead. (Well, Spencer heads to the school to follow up on a lead while Emily tries to look for a more feasible option than Stanford.) Aria tries more than ever to get her brother and dad on board with her mom going to Austria—especially since A tried to kill Mrs. Montgomery with a million bees.

However the topic of this recap—Hannah’s stupidity.

In this episode, Hannah has promptly decided to take matters into her own hands concerning her mom. Suspicion surrounding Ashley Marin has gone WAY up, after Hannah hears her mom talking to Spencer’s mom, the lawyer on the phone.

So, Hannah decides to go digging around her mom’s stuff—which was her first mistake. She look’s in the closet and finds a gun, the gun that could have been used to murder Detective Wilden.

Now I understand Hannah’s desire to move the gun. I mean, it makes sense you don’t want your mother to go to prison. However, her lack of wisdom is on obvious in how she decides to move the gun.

First, she takes it downstairs and puts it on the table, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE KITCHEN!!!!! Anyone could have walked in and asked, “Hey Hannah, umm why do you have a gun in the kitchen.” Also, judging by how A seems to be everywhere, there’s a good chance the people who walked in could have been the two detectives.

Next, after Hannah get’s off the phone with Spencer, she picks up the gun, wraps it in a scarf and puts it in the bottom of her bag. But Hannah doesn’t pick up the gun with gloves, she uses her hands—which have fingerprints—which can be used as evidence.

Finally, she decides to meet up with Emily and Spencer at Cicero College to decide what to do with the gun. Hannah gets tired of waiting for the other Liars to figure out what to do and decides to go bury the gun somewhere in the forest. While she‘s burying the gun the cops show up and arrest her, setting Hannah up for a really bad night.

If it turns out that the gun in her mom’s closet is the gun that killed Wilden…how is Hannah going to get out of this? I understand her impatience to wait for the other Liars but this might have been a time in which she should have let Spencer handle the gun. That way, she Hannah isn't looking at Murder 1.
