Texas Man Impersonates a Police Officer to Cut Through a Fast Food Drive-thru, Police Say

Police in Odessa, Texas told the AP that Michael Chico was arrested for impersonating an officer after an off-duty officer saw Chico using lights and sirens to cut ahead to the front of a fast food drive-thru line.

Cpl. Steve LeSueur said that Chico's vehicle appeared to be an unmarked police vehicle. The officer that saw the car cutting the line thought Chico was a volunteer firefighter, judging by the uniform he was wearing, according to AP. The officer followed Chico to some apartments.

When confronted by the officer, Chico admitted that he also used the lights and sirens to breeze through red lights.

According to AP, Chico walked out of jail on Sunday on $15,000 bond.
