Just weeks after ending a two-year relationship with girlfriend Stacy Keibler, George Clooney has reportedly found a new love interest.
According to Britain's The Sun, the actor is falling for former "Desperate Housewives" star and friend, Eva Longoria. Despite the fact that Longoria just went public with new boyfriend Ernesto Arguello, a source insists the pair have undeniable chemistry.
"They've become even closer just recently and George is smitten," the source dished. "Chemistry is palpable whenever they're in the same room and mutual friends have been backing the union, saying what a great couple they'd make."
The source pointed out that Clooney and Longoria, who reportedly met while supporting Barack Obama's presidential campaign, are both "really smart and have very passionate political beliefs in common."
"It's rare to find someone of a similar fame level and of equal intelligence," the source said. "It's the full package."
Another source told Us Weekly that Clooney began pursuing Longoria even before he ended his relationship with Keibler.
"He told her that he was still with Stacy, but had plans to break up with her," the source shared. "Eva made it clear to him that she would not date or be with him until he was completely single."
But for those hoping to see Longoria as Clooney's next red carpet date, it looks like that won't be happening. Longoria took to Twitter to address the rumors.
"As interesting as the George Clooney rumors are, they aren't true. George and I have been friends for years."
Longoria said recently that she "couldn't be happier," with her new beau Arguello, who she met while he was a contestant on "Ready For Love," a reality show she produced. Clooney also appears to be doing well following his recent breakup. Sources insist he and Keibler remain friends.
