Actress Penelope Cruz gave birth to a daughter the same day Kate Middleton delivered the royal baby. This is the actress' second child with her husband Javier Bardem, the Daily Mail reports. She has a two-year old son named Leonardo.
This is the first child for Middleton and Prince William who welcomed a baby boy yesterday afternoon. While the royal couple is preparing to tell the world all the details surrounding the baby, Cruz is hoping to keep her on the quieter side.
The actress didn't reveal much the first time she gave and is usually a private person. During an interview, the Daily Mail reports, Cruz said that just because she is a celebrity doesn't mean she can't keep her private life to herself.
"I want my son and my kids - if I have more - to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible. The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work we do doesn't give anybody the right to invade our privacy."
The 39-year-old actress began dating Bardem in 2007 after years of being friends. They married in 2010 at a friend's house in the Bahamas. The Cruz family have two reasons to celebrate since her younger sister, Monica, also gave birth to a baby girl.
This is the first child for Monica who revealed that she used an anonymous donor because she felt like if she kept waiting for "Mr. Right" it would be too late, Hello Magazine reports.
"So I have decided to tell all. To become pregnant... I turned to artificial insemination," she said in an interview with Hello. "I want to tell also so I can have the opportunity to show my thanks to all those anonymous men that gave many women like me, the dream of their lives."
