Royal Baby Showered With Presents from World, Welcomed by Muppets (VIDEO)

After months of anticipation the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, welcomed a baby boy to the world. All throughout the world people welcomed the new addition to the British royal family by lighting up monuments in blue light and people across the world showered the new Prince of Cambridge with gifts, according to NBC.

The proud parents used their website to thank people for the "support and goodwill" but recommended that if people wish to celebrate the birth presents should be given to charities.

"People might at this time look to support those more need; perhaps a children's charity local to them, as a way of marking the birth of their child," the statement read. "Alternatively, you could look to support Imperial College Healthcare Charity, which is the charity of the hospital where The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby was born."

In Australia the Taronga Zoo has decided to name a new enclosure after the royal baby. The enclosure is intended to be the new home of a bilby, an animal found in the Australian desert, according to NBC.

The country of New Zealand gave a two meter long hand spun fine lace shawl similar to the one they gave Prince William when he was born. The Prime Minister of New Zealand asked Cynthia Reed to create the shawl in March. Reed had to keep the eventual recipient of the shawl a secret from her friends and family, according to 3 News New Zealand.

"I was astonished," Reed said about being asked to make the shawl. "Then I thought, well, I'm never going to be asked again, this is a once in a life time thing. So I said, 'Yeah, I'll give it a go.'"

A grocery store in Wales where the new mother has shopped in the past gave the parking space reserved for parents with small children the royal makeover, painting crowns on the stick figures marking the space, according to ASDA.com.

"The Duchess of Cambridge has graced the store with her regal presence several times before and we hope that the addition of her own parking space will entice her and her little Prince," store manager Peter Ellis said. "As Kate's often busy with official duties, customers that fancy their own bit of royal treatment can park their carriages there."

Other presents that have been sent to welcome the baby include a uniform from William's favorite club Aston Villa, a fake sheepskin blanket from PETA, a prayer written by the Church of England and a plethora of teddy bears, according to NBC.

In addition to all of the presents the Muppets made a video to welcome the royal baby. Kermit better watch out because it looks like Miss Piggy is ready to welcome a royal tadpole of her own.
