The newest movie from Marvel X-Men franchise "Days of Future Past" is going to be an adaptation of a classic storyline from the comic books. For anyone who was a fan, he or she knows that this means the long-time X-Men villain, Sentinels, will finally be making an appearance against the cadre of mutant heroes reprising their roles for the film. The films creators even confirmed the newsby putting a big Sentinel head on the streets of San Diego at this year's Comic-Con. Now the viral site for Trask Industries, the fictional corporation behind the mutant-hunting robots, has evolved into an in-universe history of the movie version of the enemies.
The website, Trask-Industries.com, looks like a realistic corporation that is devoted to solving the mutant problem. One of the central themes of both the film and comic books is human being's reaction to mutants walking among them. Sentinels are the Trask Corporation's answer to protecting those without mutant abilities from those who do, like the X-Men.
"Trask Industries continues to uncover new ways to control the mounting X-gene threat," reads the pseudo-corporate site. "In 1973, Trask Industries introduced the first Sentinel production model, the Mark I. Bolivar Trask's groundbreaking research in AI, robotics and autonomous ballistic systems laid the foundation for the world's most capable anti-mutant defense system. Since the program's inception, we've continued to advance our founder's cause through eight additional generational upgrades and enhancements."
The site goes on to discuss a next-stage Mark X Sentinel being rolled out in the year 2020. There is also talk of the infamous Inhibitor Collar, a device which, in the comics, suppressed mutant's powers.
It appears this will be the first real glimpse as to what the X-Men will be combating this time around for both the cast of the original trilogy and the "First Class" film.
