Kate Upton's curvaceous body is probably one of the most talked about physiques and her personal trainer is revealing how women can now have the Supermodel's bombshell curves.
In an interview with Shape magazine, fitness guru and personal trainer Justin Gelband reveals how the 20-year-old keeps her curves in check with rigorous exercise and a healthy diet, the Daily Mail reports.
"Since the first day I met her, she wanted to come in and change the industry by saying curves are sexy," Gelband said. "She's such a great model for all the young girls out there."
Upton is one of several models who follow the ModelFIT program by Gelband. The program combines Latin dance craze Zumba with martial arts, Pilates, yoga and capoeira. The program helps women strengthen, stretch and tone their entire body as well flatten abs and firm thighs.
Gelband has a studio in New York City where he offers 45-50 minute classes to the public.
The Sports Illustrated model has often credited a heavy workout routine for her curves and said she always tries to make time for exercise.
"My schedule can be pretty grueling, but I always make time for fitness and relaxing. I get facials regularly when I'm in NYC, and my trainer helps me to plan work outs when I'm traveling," she said in a recent interview adding that lots of sleep and plenty of water is also important.
Gelband, who is known as the "model whisperer" by his clients, said that besides working out, eating properly is also a key to obtaining an "Upton-esque" physique.
His diet tips for clients require them to remove sugar and salt from daily meals but he does allow some carbs. He told Harper's Bazaar that he doesn't believe in cutting all carbohydrates from a person's diet but cautions that when a person feels the need to indulge in carbs try and get them from vegetables, Ezekiel breads and brown rice. He also said to limit carb intake to twice a week.
"Food is absolutely number one," Gelband told Harper's Bazaar. "When I sit down with anyone to discuss their workout regimen, the first thing I say to them is, 'The one thing I really want you to concentrate on now is limiting the amount of things you are putting into your body that you do not need. No sugar (except for berries), no salt, no alcohol, limit your carbs."
With these tips Gelband claims a "body like Kate's can be achieved by most." He also trains Miranda Kerr, Candice Swanepoel, Irina Shayk, Erin Heatherton and Lily Aldridge.
