Many have speculated whether three-time NBA MVP LeBron James—6’8”, 250 pounds—would succeed in the NFL. Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is of the opinion that James has great potential to become a football star, according to ESPNDallas.com.
"That dude is just that talented," Bryant told the website when asked about the hypothetical scenario. "I think it would take him probably about a good two weeks to get very acquainted with football, knowing what he's supposed to do. I think that's all he'd need with his physical ability.
In addition to being a superstar basketball player at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s in Akron, Ohio, James was also a star wide receiver. He stopped playing his senior year of high school.
"I've seen a little bit of his highlights from high school. He's got the hands, he can run the routes, he's fast enough. He could play in this league if he put it all together," predicted Bryant. The Cowboys receiver showed he could play in the league last season. In 2012 Bryant had 92 receptions, 1,382 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns.
James definitely has the body and skills for football. In addition to his height and size, he also posses great leaping ability and speed.
"All he'd need to do is probably work on a little technique," Bryant said. "It's not like he's never played football before. He has played football. I think he'd be a beast in the red zone. I think he could do it. I think he could do it, seriously."
While no one knows what may have happened if James had chosen football, basketball seems like a pretty good choice.
In James’ 10 seasons in the NBA he has won Rookie of the Year, two NBA titles, two All-Star game MVP awards, two Finals MVP awards, four NBA MVP awards, and been named to the All-NBA 1st Team seven times.
Yea, a pretty good choice.
