Dead Gray Whale Washes Up On Beach In Northern California, Seventh This Year

A dead gray whale was discovered on Sunday washed up on Portuguese beach in Sonoma County, according to CBS San Francisco. The carcass measured 28 feet long - not the length of an adult whale. How the whale died is still unknown.

May ends the period of gray whale migration during which the whales move north from breeding grounds near Mexico.
