Finally, Showtime has released a trailer for Season 3 of "Homeland." The 3-minute clip begins at the end of Season 2 and how Brody and Carrie left things then fast forwards to the aftermath of the explosion at the CIA building.
The trailer is silent but a definite tear-jerker and is sure to leave fans anxiously waiting for the new season to air. As expected we see Carrie crying a whole lot in the trailer. Claire Danes had already revealed that her character has "gone off her meds for lots of reasons that she believes really strong in."
Fans also see Carrie and Saul testifying in front of a Senate court room. Uh oh, this could have a whole lot to do with the explosion. Brody's daughter Dana is also at the center of the trailer as she is seen discovering her father's prayer rug , rolling it out and kneeling down in prayer position.
"One of the things that we tried to do with the story for all of this is show an event that can be interpreted in a number of ways," producer Alex Gansa said at a July TCA panel, Zap2it reports. "What is Dana doing on that prayer rug?... All those [possible explanations] are completely acceptable explanations, but the truth is the power of the image transcends."
As for Brody himself, it has already been revealed that he won't be seen in the first two episodes but he does make a shocking appearance in the trailer as a now bald fugitive hiding out in a foreign country. And there is a big reward for his capture - $10,000,000.
The trailer is definitely action-packed. The new season of "Homeland" returns Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
