Samantha Bee's talkshow "Full Front with Samantha Bee" might still be another two months away, but Internet trolls have already started filling her comments section with hateful messages. The former "Daily Show" correspondent dropped by "Late Night with Seth Meyers" to talk about her new nighttime talk show and the interesting way she is handling the sexist and hateful comments.
"Some people leave comments that indicate a simmering rage and a full hatred of you, " Bee told Meyers.
Bee then announced that she started a rape threatening hotline that trolls could call to get their hate-filled rage out of the way. Bee created 1-844-4-TROLLZ because she wants "people to know that their comments are important to us, and we want to prioritize them in levels of threat and violence."
"Hello, you have reached the Samantha Bee Rape Threatline," a voice says when the hotline is called. "Nobody's here to answer your call, but your offer of non-consensual sex is important to us, so please select from the following menu."
The voice on the line then gives the caller five threatening options like, "To tell me I'm a dumb bitch that needs to be raped, press 1" or "To tell me you wouldn't even rape me because of how old and disgusting I am, press 4."
"For all other menacing remarks meant to intimidate me through the threat of sexual violence, press 0. Thank you for your call," the voice ends.
