One year after a woman was killed while riding in a convertible, Florida police are still trying to solve the mystery behind who shot her.

Destiny Bucknor, 19, lost her life to a single bullet shortly after 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in Fort Lauderdale.

Bucknor was a passenger in a convertible Slingshot vehicle driven by an man, traveling westbound on Northwest Eighth Street, when an unidentified subject shot at them as they approached the 2900 block, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The office's homicide detectives continue to look for the killer and are turning to the public for help identifying the suspect.

Anyone with information on the case is being urgently asked to come forward.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $5,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the homicide of the 19-year-old.

The motive behind the crime remains unknown.
