Court documents relating to James Lee DiMaggio's case were unsealed on Wednesday, revealing new details of the alleged murder and kidnapping.
DiMaggio, 40, reportedly tortured his friend "Christina Anderson and her eight-year-old son Ethan before killing them in his home and abducting her 16-year-old-daughter Hannah," according to court documents, NBC News reports.
A warrant for DiMaggio's phone records shows DiMaggio and Hannah exchanged 13 phone calls on the day of the reported murder and house fire.
"It has been learned through interviews with Hanna [sic] Anderson's friend that DiMaggio took her on multiple day trips. The most recent one being to Malibu and Hollywood," the warrant said.
Other warrants released give details of what investigators responded to on Aug. 4, the night of DiMaggio's house fire.
"DiMaggio tortured and killed his best friend's wife and ... son. DiMaggio also shot and killed the family dog," an application for a search warrant stated, NBC News reports. "After the double homicide, DiMaggio set the house on fire."
"A third family member, sixteen-year-old Hannah Anderson, is also missing and believed to still be with DiMaggio. Hannah Anderson is believed to be in grave danger and being held against her will by DiMaggio."
Firefighters reportedly discovered the body of Christina Anderson, 44, under a tarp with a crow bar next to her. Ethan's body was also found in the fire's remains, but it was badly burned. Officials took days to identify the boy's body.
DiMaggio was shot and killed by police officials during Hannah's rescue on Saturday in Idaho. According to NBC News, the coroner said DiMaggio had "multiple gunshot wounds" to the head and chest.
Hannah has allegedly broken her silence about the events on social media, answering questions on the site Ask.fm under the account "Hannahbanana722." The teenager did not know her mother and brother were dead until she returned home on Saturday.
"I wish I could go back in time and risk my life to try and save theirs. I will never forgive myself for not trying harder to save them," Anderson reportedly posted on the site.
