KGI Securities analys Ming-Chi Kuo seems to make headlines every time a new prediction about Apple products is made. The latest from the rumor mill are reports that the upcoming iPhone 5S will be adding a 128GB storage option for the handset smartphone and possibly a 64-bit processor. However, if you're not impressed by a phone's inner workings, a golden iPhone is on the way as well.
According to the report via AppleInsider, the next iPhone is likely to come in three distinct colors. There will be the standard white and black models as well as a new gold-plated model for the user who prefers a touch more flare with his or her device. A leaked photo, pictured above, from Macotakara support this claim.
Aesthetics weren't the only thing the analyst believes will be headed to consumer's pockets by the holiday season. Apple began offering a 128GB option for the iPad 4 for the first time in February. Now it appears the iPhone will be getting the same mass-storage luxury. In addition, reports claim the phone will receive a new A7 system-on-a-chip based on ARM's 64-bit ARMv8 architecture, according to CNET. This would mark a significant upgrade for the iPhone.
Other specs expected for the iPhone 5S include an 8 MP rear facing camera, the same as the previous iPhone 5, except this one will get a larger f/2.0 aperture with a dual LED flash. The new aperture will allow more light to go through the lens resulting in better looking pictures, bringing iPhone photography to the next level in terms of quality. In addition to the camera, the iPhone 5S has had rumors circulating over the past couple weeks about a sapphire home button. This will leave room the highly anticipated fingerprint scanner. This will cause the classic plastic home button to protrude out of the device in a convex angle. While that seems that will result in a drastic change for the iPhone's physical design, odds are good this feature won't be any more noticeable than physical buttons on phones like the HTC One or the Galaxy S4.
