USA Network announced Wednesday that it will be bringing back "Suits" for a 16-episode sixth season.
The move comes exactly a week after the channel aired first episode of the show's fifth season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"'Suits' has set the bar high in every way and continues to be a strong performer and marquee property for USA," Chris McCumber, president of USA Network, said in a statement, Entertainment Weekly reported. "From the incredible on-screen performances and brilliant writing to the aspirational lifestyle portrayed, we look forward to continuing to bring viewers into the world of 'Suits' every week."
The series is the NBCUniversal-owned network's second longest running television show after "Royal Pains." The premiere of the show's fifth installment was watched by a total of 3.4 million viewers.
"'Suits' has delivered a smart and sexy roller coaster ride for five seasons," said Universal Cable Productions President and Chief Content Officer for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Jeff Wachtel, according to Deadline. "[Creator] Aaron Korsh has some great surprises for the audience at the end of Season 5 that should really set future seasons on an exciting new course."
Set at a fast-paced New York law firm, the TV drama stars Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres and Rick Hoffman.
