Samsung is calling all developers to attend its fist developers conference in San Francisco's St. Francis Hotel from Oct. 27-29. Today the South Korean tech giant opened up its registration site for the event.
According to PCMag, the event will cost participants about $300 per ticket. It promises to give potential developers insight into the company's newest tools for building applications. People can now register online as a developer, general attendee, student or "other." While the ticket price may seem steep, Samsung promises to offer people who attend access to keynote speeches, working sessions and other exclusive developer content. All registration information, as well as a full schedule of events can be found HERE.
"Samsung is excited to offer developers a single place to learn how to develop, market, and monetize applications and services that may span smartphones, tablets, and televisions," Dr. WonPyo Hong, president of the Samsung Media Solution Center, said in a statement. ""As convergence of user experiences [grows] and as consumers utilize more devices, even at the same time, the opportunity for developers to be innovative has never been better."
Among the topics likely to be discussed at the conference are: Samsung SDKs and tools, the SPen, Samsung Service Playform, Froup Play, AdHub, Context Aware and much more.
This conference will mark Samsung's first foray into the world of developer's conferences. This will help it compete on the same level as its competitors from Apple, Google and Microsoft. The company announced its first three-day long, global developers conference back in July. When it made the announcement, Samsung promised "a major, Samsung-wide, cross-product (milti-screen) developer event."
The company recently acquired the TV streaming company Boxee in order to work it into an upcoming project. There's no word yet on the status of that project but it's possible more details will come at the conference in the fall.
