Four Prisoners Escape From Mississippi Jail, Two Still At Large

Mississippi law enforcement officials have recaptured two out of four prisoners who escaped a county jail and are continuing their manhunt for the remaining two inmates, according to the police, Reuters reported.

The four inmates, who were serving time for charges including murder and robbery, broke out of Raymond Detention Center near Jackson shortly after midnight on Monday. "Based on our preliminary investigation we are inclined to believe that this was a prearranged and preplanned escape," the Hinds County Sheriff's Office said in a statement posted on their Facebook page.

Jermaine Wilson, 19, was apprehended approximately 10 miles away in Jackson and taken into custody 18 hours after the escape. Eighteen-year-old Kevin Holmes was arrested the following day at a Jackson park, after law enforcement officers found him hiding in a baseball dugout, according to ABC News.

Law enforcement officials are chasing leads on the remaining two fugitives: Montreal Damon Anderson, 25, and John Rollins, 23. "This investigation continues and we will get to the bottom of it," County Sheriff Tyrone Lewis said. "We won't stop until it is done."

Wilson is charged with capital murder for his role in the death of a Jackson woman three years ago. Holmes is facing three counts of armed robbery. Rollins is charged with auto theft and false pretense. Both men are also facing malicious mischief charges. Anderson was in jail for possession of recovered stolen property on a felony hold.

The escape follows the prison break of two convicted murderers from a maximum security New York prison last month. To read more about it, click HERE.
