Sam Smith and Disclosure’s “Omen” is HNGN’s new music Monday selection for July 27 for its great house beat.
“I’m feeling something, something different. When you left, I’m here to change. I was blinded, I’d not envisioned. The same face in a different frame. It’s an Omen, caught my baby crying, saw the silver lining. It must be an omen. Needed you to show me, without you I am lonely,” the English singer says on the joint record with the house duo, according to Direct Lyrics.
Brothers Howard Lawrence and Guy Lawrence make up Disclosure – one of which is thrilled with the opportunity to vocalize alongside Smith.
“It was really exciting,” Howard Lawrence said in a statement, according to Entertainment Weekly. “We had three whole days to hang out with Sam and write, which are two of my favorite things to do.”
“It’s very traditional way of writing songs,” Guy Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly regarding the amount of people involved in creating a beat with vocals. “We could do it at home. I’ll sit in the corner making a rough beat and getting all the sounds I think we’re going to use ready. Someone will think about a theme of a subject we want to talk about. It all comes together that way-and if it doesn’t come together quickly, it usually never will.”
