Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for "The Walking Dead."
Season six of AMC's runaway hit show "The Walking Dead" won't debut until October, but fans are already clawing at tiny morsels of information like a zombie clawing at a fresh meal. Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with the cast and uncovered some interesting tidbits about the upcoming season.
For one, it sounds like tensions are going to be high in Alexandria, and not only because Rick killed Pete at the end of season five.
According to Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, there is going to be "a lot of internal conflict. A lot of characters that you didn't see having beef are starting to have beef - there's a lot of mistrust."
Reedus potentially got himself into hot water with a massive spoiler leak in a separate interview. For now, we're choosing to ignore that bit.
Star Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) told EW that the mistrust Reedus spoke of will create a feeling of "them" and "us" among the survivors. There may even be dividing factions within Rick's own group. This, along with planned time jumps, will be featured in the new season.
"We open right in the middle of this heightened action sequence, and we then jump around in that time frame to allow the audience to put together in their own minds what it is that we actually just saw," executive producer and director Greg Nicotero said. One such story will focus on Morgan's struggle to regain his sanity.
Fans of the comic book series will also be treated to some missing backstory, a filling in of the blanks, if you will.
"There are some stories filled in regards to the comic that we haven't even gotten to yet - sort of prequeling some comic stories that are coming up," showrunner Scott M. Gimple said. The Wolves, the deadly and dangerous survivor group teased throughout season five, are also expected to get significant screen time this season. If the show plans to follow the comics, that does not bode well for one of the beloved main characters.
"The Walking Dead" season six will debut on AMC in October.
