Less than 24 hours after a bill to defund Planned Parenthood failed to pass a vote in the Senate that would have bought it to debate, The Center For Medical Progress released a fifth undercover sting video targeted at highlighting alleged illegal activities Planned Parenthood partakes in. Like the other videos, the newest one features Center For Medical Progress employees posing as fetal tissue buyers. The Planned Parenthood official they secretly taped was Melissa Farrell, director of research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast.
"If we alter our process and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers ... it's all just a matter of line items," Farrell says in the video. Altering the process of an abortion in order to obtain fetal tissue is against the law. The footage also includes graphic clips of workers examining fetal parts.
The full video has not been released yet, so it is difficult to know if comments, like the one above, are taken out of context or not.
The Center For Medical Progress chose to film this video at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast in Texas because it is a "mega center" for the group, according to Politico.
"Planned Parenthood's system-wide conspiracy to evade the law and make money off of aborted fetal tissue is now undeniable," Center For Medical Progress head David Daleiden said in a statement, Politico reported. "Anyone who watches these videos knows that Planned Parenthood is engaged in barbaric practices and human rights abuses that must end."
Daleiden has said his group is set to release more undercover sting videos. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood officials have continuously denied the claims of selling fetal tissue donations profit. They say the donations are sold to cover the cost of procedures and that the group does not make money on them.
