Coldplay 'Atlas': Brit Band Debuts Single For 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Soundtrack, First Song Since Release of 'Mylo Xyloto' (LISTEN)

Coldplay has released a new single titled "Atlas" for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" soundtrack, and fans of both the band and the film franchise will surely be pleased.

The soft ballad screams Coldplay, but is fitting for the theme of the upcoming "Hunger Games" flick. The Grammy-award winning rockers were the perfect choice to lead the "Catching Fire" soundtrack.

"Atlas" is the first single the band has released since their full-length album, "Mylo Xyloto."

"I have great respect and admiration for Coldplay, and we are thrilled with how well they have connected to the themes and ideas within the film," 'Catching Fire' director Francis Lawrence said in a statement to MTV. "Their unwavering passion and excitement for the project elevated the collaboration even further, and we can't wait to share this music with audiences around the world."

The film will be released to theaters on Nov. 22, and premiere in London on Nov. 11.

Jennifer Lawrence and the cast made their rounds at this year's San Diego Comic Con to promote "Catching Fire." Lawrence gave the panels the inside scoop of what it was like kissing co-star Josh Hutcherson. The starlet plays Katniss Everdeen in the film franchise.

"The kissing scenes are going to be really hot, if you're into snot," Lawrence wittily told the crowd.

Fans can expect to see Katniss struggling with post traumatic stress disorder while trying to adjust to normal life after her Hunger Games win. Lawrence opened up to Vogue about the vulnerability of her character in an interview published in the September issue:

"I don't know what it's like to get ready for your death, but I do know what it's like to be almost a puppet. And then when I was making the second film, I had become more acquainted with that world, and I think that's something that Katniss experiences. She is different when she comes back. She does feel more comfortable in the Capitol; she understands the people more, and it's not as eerie and scary and unfamiliar. She kind of knows how to work the system."
