Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."
Oh snap, things just got real in the DC Extended Universe.
Or, at least, they are rumored to be getting real. Heroic Hollywood is reporting that Wonder Woman will take on none other than iconic DC Comics villain Doomsday in Zack Snyder's "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" next year.
Doomsday has been rumored to be a primary villain of the film for some time, though his involvement is still unconfirmed. Regardless of his potential role, it has been assumed that Wonder Woman's presence in the film would result in further conflict with the two titular heroes. Now, it appears as if her action sequences are against Doomsday instead of Superman and Batman. The awesomeness of that is not lost on us.
Specific details of the fight are few and far between, but HH Editor-in-Chief Umberto Gonzalez did say that "Wonder Woman draws that awesome sword of hers, swings it at Doomsday and manages to chop off the hand of the beast!"
But don't assume a flawless victory for the warrior princess as Doomsday grows a "bone blade" in its place, according to Gonzalez.
Remember, all of this is still just an unsubstantiated rumor. But Doomsday's presence would confirm months of speculation and make for a perfect physical foil for our warrior god characters.
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens on March 25, 2016.
