Marvel has worked diligently to thread its movie and TV universes together, mostly through storylines and secondary characters, but at least one "Avenger" wouldn't mind a guest starring on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Jeremy Renner is still waiting for the ABC series to invite him on to reprise his role as Hawkeye on the small screen, he told fans at the Wizard World Chicago panel on Sunday. His only caveat was the show needed to film near his children in Los Angeles, which it does.
"I've said this before," the 44-year-old actor stated and urged fans to "go yell at those guys" to write him into an episode. Renner also expressed interest in appearing on the show last October during a Reddit AMA.
"I'm sure the folks at Marvel have ideas, and when they're strong enough, they'll bring 'em to me," he said. "But I love me some Clark Gregg, he's so great. We killed him and brought him back to life to do Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., he's so good!"
Marvel resurrected Gregg's character Phil Coulson to headline the "S.H.I.E.L.D." in 2013. In its first two seasons, the show has hosted Marvel stars Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), and Jamie Alexander (Lady Sif) as well as featured flashback scenes with Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter.
Renner will next suit up as Hawkeye in the upcoming Marvel movie, "Captain America: Civil War."
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will premiere its third season on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
