"American Dad!" has been renewed by TBS for two more seasons. The network made an official announcement today that it was adding 44 new episodes to the adult animated comedy created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Mike Weitzmann.
The pickup will keep the show running through 2018 with Seasons 12 and 13, according to Entertainment Weekly.
This marks the second renewal for the sitcom in less than a year. The show was picked up by TBS after Fox dropped it following a 9-season run. In November, the network ordered 22 episodes for season 11, which is scheduled to air on TBS as well as Adult Swim early next year.
"American Dad!" has thrived on TBS, becoming the network's No. 1 scripted series in the Monday 9 p.m. timeslot among adults aged between 18 and 34 and draws approximately 4 million viewers per episode, taking into account its repeat telecasts and on-demand and digital streams, according to Variety.
The series, which follows the adventures of CIA Agent Stan Smith and his family, has a number of accolades under its belt, including two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Animated Program, two Annie Award nominations and seven Teen Choice Award nominations. "American Dad!" also won the Top Television Series award at the ASCAP Film & Television Music Awards earlier this year.
