MTV's Video Music Awards are one of the most highly anticipated award shows of the summer and this year's show is bound to be as shockingly good as it always is, especially since Miley Cyrus is hosting. Based on her past performances at the VMA's, and her overall carefree attitude, she's bound to put on an awesome show, most likely filled with kittens, tons of bright colors and a few nipple pasties. The producers have even said that they have given her "free rein" to do what she wants, so we could only imagine what she'll have in store for the audience and viewers. There's even a newly designed rainbow, hippie-like Moon Man for this years event!
With Nicki Minaj opening the show, and Justin Bieber making his way to the stage with his new song "What Do You Mean," which was just released two days ago, the performances alone will be eventful enough to keep you watching. It's just one of those shows where you never really know what is going to happen, and that's what makes it one of the most entertaining ones to watch. Other performers include Demi Lovato, The Weeknd, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Twenty One Pilots & A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell. Kanye West will not only be performing, but he will also be receiving the Video Vanguard Award, which is the award with the highest honor at this show.
Popular artists like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, Fetty Wap, Hozier, Walk The Moon and so many more are all nominated for awards for their music videos, so it'll be interesting to see who comes out on top. A-List celebs like Kylie Jenner, Britney Spears and Rita Ora will be presenting the awards at this star-studded event and Taylor Swift will be premiere her new video for "Wildest Dreams."
The 2015 VMAs are on tonight, August 30, at 9/8c on MTV. Check back throughout the show for live updates on who's taking home the Moonman! The winners are listed below.
