Rumors started going around last week that singer Andy Grammer would be joining "Dancing With The Stars" and ABC has confirmed that the rumors are true!
The 31-year-old "Honey I'm Good" singer made a video announcement on the official "DWTS" Twitter revealing the awesome news. "What's up guys, Andy Grammer here," he says in the video. "The rumors are true - I'm doing 'Dancing With The Stars.' Check me out on September 14."
Grammer was also on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" this morning where he talked about the process of joining the show so far. "I've had one meeting so far with my partner who apparently got hurt, which is a super bummer," he told Seacrest. "So I have to get another partner, which is terrible. I really liked her! Her name is Peta Murgatroyd. I can kind of move and be on beat, but I was telling her, everything she wanted me to do was like Gaston from 'Beauty and the Beast.'"
"DWTS" posted another video of Grammer to its Instagram of him holding a mic saying, "This one's for you Mom."
Grammer is the eighth contestant to make their official casting announcement. He will be competing against Bindi Irwin, Victor Espinoza, Nick Carter, Hayes Grier, Alexa and Carlos PenaVega and Chaka Khan. Watch "Good Morning America" on Wednesday to see who their partners will be!
