Jackie Chan, the actor, funnyman and stuntman will build a theme park in Beijing where he will exhibit some of the items that he has collected over the years with the fortune he's gained during his years as a successful actor.
"I was very poor when I was a child, so when I had money later onm I bought all sorts of things and went around the world collecting them," Chan told ChannelNewsAsia. "I want to exhibit all my stuff. They may not all be worth a lot of money, but they may have a story behind them."
So far there isn't much information that reveals what will draw people to the planned three-quarter-square-mile Jackie Chan World park. However, Chan will be donating at least four antique Chinese buildings to the park's development.
"60 percent of the park will be free, 40 percent will be ticketed, with the money used to maintain the antique buildings," he said. "I am not short on money."
Chan is set to shoot a new film with Chinese director Zhang Yimou next year. He is currently in the middle of playing the latest action hero in Sylvester Stallone's third installment of his action packed, and action-hero packed, film franchise "The Expendables 3."
Chan recently found himself in the middle of a controversy regarding his antique buildings. He had donated four of them to Singapore university after many had argued that his buildings were cultural relics that belonged to China. Chan had spent years trying to find a home for the buildings, which he had dumped a lot of money into to keep the maintained. Unfortunately he couldn't find a home for them. People didn't realize how valuable they were until he had already made the donation to the university. No set date for the opening of Chan's Beijing theme park has been set but the actor is reportedly going through with Jackie Chan World for sure.
