Tori Spelling has filed a lawsuit against restaurant chain Benihana after she burned herself on one of their hibachi grills, reported TMZ. The accident happened in April and sent her to the hospital.
The "Beverly Hills 90210" actress filed a personal injury lawsuit against the chain on Wednesday, claiming that she suffered from wage loss, hospital and medicine expenses, general damage and loss of earning capacity. The lawsuit stated that Spelling, 42, "sustained deep second and third degree burn injuries requiring hospitalization and surgery." Spelling had to get skin grafts as a result of her burns.
"Tori hadn't even started to eat, when she slipped and fell," a source told People magazine in April. "Not thinking, she grabbed onto the side of the hot grill and burned her arm. At the time, it didn't seem as bad as the doctors told her it was the next day."
Spelling filed the lawsuit against the entire Benihana Corporation, not just the Enchino, Calif. location where the incident happened. She was having Easter Sunday dinner with her husband Dean McDermott and their children Liam, Stella, Hattie and Finn at the restaurant when she got up and tripped and fell backwards onto the grill, according to CBS News.
She's seeking unspecified damages.
