U.K. Refugees Will Be Given Asylum, David Cameron Says

Prime Minister Davis Cameron has announced that he will welcome "thousands" more Syrian refugees into the U.K. The refugees will be coming from the many camps on the borders of Syria, according to BBC News.

Conflict in Syria has hit the people living in the country hard, as migrants are flooding into Europe every day. This week, a large group of immigrants stuck in a Budapest train station decided to complete the rest of their journey on foot. They will walk across Austria to get deeper into Europe.

The U.K. has given asylum to almost 5,000 Syrian refugees in the last four years. Cameron previously stated that the U.K. "should not take more Middle East refugees."

A viral photo of a drowned Syrian child made the migrant crisis in Europe a worldwide topic of discussion earlier in the week, which could be why the Prime Minister so abruptly changed his stance, Inquisitr reported.

Aylan Kurdi, the little boy whose photo so captured the world's attention, was buried Friday, according to The Independent. "I want Arab governments - not European countries - to see...my children, and because of them to help people," said Suleiman Kurdi, Aylan's father. Several petitions were started in the U.K. after the drowning, urging the government to accept more refugees.
