In light of the slaying of Darren H. Goforth, a Texas teen vowed to provide backup to a sheriff's deputy in Harris County, and the story - along with the resulting picture with the two of them - has now gone viral, according to CNN.
Harris County Deputy Constable Tommi Jones Kelley was alone at a gas station near Houston, when the young man, identified as Mckinley Zoellner, suddenly came up behind her.
While behind her, he asked, "Ma'am, do you mind if I stand here behind you while you get your gas?" according to a post on Kelly's Facebook page.
Upon asking why, Kelly said he replied, "To make sure you stay safe!"
After she was finished with her car, Zoellner simply walked off and got into a car where his mother was waiting in the driver's seat, according to Fox News Insider.
Kelley then walked up to the car and let Zoellner's mother know that her son "was amazing for what he did."
The two took a photo together which quickly went viral:
Ok, so EARLY this morning I was pumping gas in my patrol car (reason I look like a Hot Mess!)...& add it was pouring...

Thinking about the event, Kelly said, "With all the terror going on nationwide, this reassured me there are still some pretty awesome individuals out there!"
