It is a great day for Darlington Nagbe as he recently received his official U.S. Citizenship and is now able to play for Jurgen Klinsmann and the USMNT, according to MLSSoccer.com.
Nagbe brings the needed speed and flair the USMNT lacks along the wings, especially in recent matches against Peru and Brazil. The 25-year-old Nagbe plays soccer in MLS for the Portland Timbers where he showcases his dazzling talents on a weekly basis.
Before Nagbe became a citizen of the United States, scouts and fans were excited to see what he could bring to MLS and, hopefully, the national team. Back in 2014, Nagbe made it known that he was interested in playing for the Red, White and Blue.
With important matches coming up for the United States against Mexico and World Cup qualifiers, most experts project Nagbe to receive a January call-up.
It is nothing against Nagbe, especially since his talents could be used against Mexico and other opponents, but Klinsmann is not the type of coach to bring someone in just for fun. Oh wait, yes he is. Either way, Klinsmann will probably take things the safer way and not mess with Nagbe until the end of the year.
Nagbe is a welcome addition to the United States national team and fans are excited to see what he can do on the international level.
