The Originals Spoilers: Klaus and Marcel in 1800s [LOOK]; Did Rebekah Save Someone's Life?

One’s things pretty clear as we get ready for the first season of “The Originals”—it will be Klaus (Joseph Morgan) vs. Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). The pilot gave viewers the impression that the former mentor and mentee had a pretty good relationship prior to Klaus’s departure from New Orleans.

However, according to an exclusive photo provided to Entertainment Weekly, 2013 won’t be the first time Klaus and Marcel are at odds.

In the photo which takes place in the 1800s (you can view the picture here), Klaus is pointing a sword at a shirtless Marcel. Rebekah (Claire Holt) looks to be trying to stop Klaus from killing him.

This isn’t the first time Rebekah has tried to stop one of her brothers from hurting someone. Last season she did the same thing with Cole when he was going to hurt Matt (Zach Roerig)—due to her huge crush on the only non-supernatural person of the main cast.

So did she stop Klaus all those years ago because she had a relationship with Marcel?

During a Comic Con interview with reporters, Holt hinted at something between her and Klaus’ arch enemy.

“It’s going to have to be someone she’s not related to, which doesn’t leave many options right now,” she told reporters referring to a possible love interest for Rebekah in The Originals. (Two of the few main characters are her brothers.) “I don’t know I’ll let you put two-and-two together,” she said.

When one reporter asked if there would be something between her and Marcel she replied, “Who knows, I imagine maybe there could be.”

“The Originals” premieres Thursday, Oct. 3 at 9/8c on The CW.
