Peter Dinklage: Actor Reportedly Spit His Gum Into Wife’s Mouth Before Accepting Emmy Award (VIDEO)

Peter Dinklage seemed genuinely surprised when he won his second Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in HBO's "Game of Thrones." The actor was so surprised he won he was still chewing gum when his name was called out as the winner. When it was time to accept his award, he leaned over and kissed his wife, Erica Schmidt. The internet was set ablaze when it looked as though he spit out the gum he was chewing into her mouth.

"I wasn't prepared at all," Dinklage told the audience during his speech. "I was even chewing gum."

Dinklage was part of "Game of Thrones" history-making night. The popular HBO show took home 12 Emmys at Sunday night's ceremony, the most any series ever won in a single year. The fantasy series based on George R.R. Martin's "Song of Fire and Ice" series also took home Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Production Design and Outstanding Directing for David Nutter's "Mother's Mercy" episode.

Dinklage was nominated for Best Supporting Actor four times before and won once, according to Mashable.
