Jon Hamm: 'Spongebob Squarepants' Brings On Actor As Animated Version of His 'Mad Men' Character

Jon Hamm finally won an Emmy for his starring role in "Mad Men" and now he's headed to Bikini Bottom to guest star on "Spongebob Squarepants."

Nickelodeon has confirmed that instead of playing his iconic "Mad Men" character Don Draper, the 44-year-old actor will play the animated fish version, Don Grouper, according to Variety. Don Grouper will only appear in one episode of the popular children's show, which will air sometime next year.

Grouper is "a charismatic head ad executive of the agency Grouper, Goby & Koi," producers said, according to Page Six. "When Don's in the room, everyone laps up his words like overpriced organic honey." During the episode, Mr. Krabs turns to Grouper for business advice as he looks into launching a frozen-food version of his signature Krabby Patty.

Much like Don Draper, Grouper wears a slick suit and tie, according to Us Weekly. This is not his first animated role, either. Earlier this year, he was the voice of Herb Overkill, who was Sandra Bullock's character's husband in the "Minions" movie.

"You have total freedom. You're not contained by what you look like or what your hair looks like that day, or what haircut you're stuck with from whatever thing you just finished," he told Collider of working in animated films. "It's really fun and it's completely creative."
