Casper Van Dien and Catherin Oxenberg have filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles for irreconcilable differences, according to TMZ. They had been married for 16 years and have two children together, Amanda, 14, and Celeste, 11.
On top of the irreconcilable differences, Van Dien, 46, is also asking for joint physical custody and legal custody of their two daughters. Neither are asking for or want to pay spousal support, so the "Starship Troopers" actor is hoping that the divorce goes smoothly.
Oxenberg is best known for playing Amanda Carrington on the '80s soap series "Dynasty," People reported. She is also sort of royalty, as she is the second cousin (once removed) to Prince Charles, and her mother is Princess Elizabeth of the former country Yugoslavia.
This will be the second divorce for each of the actors, according to the Daily Mail. Van Dien was previously married to Carrie Mitchum, who is the daughter of actor Robert Mitchum, for four years before they divorced in 1997, and Oxenburg was briefly married to producer and studio head Robert Evans for just nine days.
The two met on the set of the 1999 TV movie "The Collectors" and went on to work together on the Christian thriller "The Omega Code." They also had their own reality show in 2005 called "I Married a Princess," but it only lasted on Lifetime for one season.
