NBC is showing early confidence in its new drama, "Blindspot" after pulling in impressive ratings for its premiere episode. The network has already ordered the back-nine scripts for the Jamie Alexander thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Blindspot" was the most-watched drama and new series when it premiered on Sept. 21 with 10.6 million viewers. The show picked up nearly 5 million more viewers after three days of delayed viewing (15.2 million).
In the Greg Berlanti-produced series, Alexander stars as a woman covered in tattoos, found zipped in a duffel bag in the middle of Times Square. She has no memory, but one tattoo leads her to FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) who will help piece together the mystery of all her ink.
The additional script order does not guarantee NBC will order the nine episodes, but it's more than likely given "Blindspot" is one of the few breakout shows of the fall.
"Blindspot" airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. on NBC.
