An unidentified armed suspect flashed a gun inside a vehicle in an Instagram video that went viral on social media Monday, reported the Los Angeles Times.
The video contains 15 seconds of footage taken inside a parked car behind a police car pulled over with the driver's door open. The unseen camera person seems to be seated in the passenger seat.
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said the video was shot in downtown Los Angeles and detectives have "identified the vehicle and three suspects who were inside filming," according to CBS Los Angeles.
"The investigation revealed that the film was made by members of an early 1990s rap group no longer in fashion. The film was made and posted on social media to ignite a comeback by the rap group," said the LAPD via statement, reported the Los Angeles Times.
Beck said the armed suspect in the video "appears to be stalking" the officer.
An LAPD spokesman said the force is "making our officers aware of it and letting them know that we take this and all threats against our officers very seriously."
Tuesday, Beck announced the arrest of a "secondary suspect" and said the arrest of a "primary suspect" is imminent, reported CBS Los Angeles.
"Right now Robbery-Homicide Division is actively looking for him," said Beck. "His attorney is in contact with Robbery-Homicide Division. We're trying to negotiate that surrender at this point."
