Michelle Duggar, former star of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting," offered sex advice to newlyweds and married couples, the Christian Post reported. But her advice that wives always "be available" to their husbands seemed to be a jab at her daughter-in-law, Anna Duggar, just two months after Josh Duggar's Ashley Madison cheating scandal broke.
An anonymous fan of the Duggar family's former reality series submitted a question to Michelle, asking, "What advice will you give Jill as a newlywed wife to keep in mind throughout her marriage?"
Michelle offered up a piece of advice that was passed down to her by a friend six months before her wedding to Duggar family patriarch, Jim Bob.
"You've got to remember this. Anyone can iron Jim Bob's shirt, anybody can make lunch for him. He can get his lunch somewhere else. But you are the only one who can meet that special need that he has in his life for intimacy," Michelle wrote on the Duggar family's blog. "So when you are exhausted at the end of the day, maybe from dealing with little ones, and you fall into bed so exhausted at night, don't forget about him because you and he are the only ones who can have that time together. No one else in the world can meet that need."
Her advice comes just two months after her eldest son, Josh Duggar, was outed from Ashley Madison in August. Josh admitted to cheating on his wife Anna, who was pregnant with the couple's fourth child, as previously reported by HNGN. He's currently in rehab seeking treatment for sex addiction.
Fans were outraged because Michelle's advice seemed to blame Anna for her son's indiscretions, and for not meeting his needs.
"And so be available, and not just available," she wrote, "But be joyfully available for him."
