Tom Hank's new movie, "Bridge of Spies" hit theatres Friday, but the actor offed a kid friendly version of the Stephen Spielberg Cold War drama Thursday night on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." Hanks and Fallon did not act out scenes from the actual movie, but scenes written by elementary-aged school kids!
"We gave them no direction," Fallon said of the kids who wrote the lines, "just the title 'Bridge of Spies.'"
The pair performed three scenes, and the Academy Award-winning actor stayed in character the entire time!
"What does it look like, dummy? It's a bridge of spies. Go Away. We're spying," Hanks told Fallon at one point.
"Well, they are gonna build this new bridge somewhere in China or something. They are gonna call it the Bridge of Spies, 'cause they are finding spies and taping them together to make a bridge," Hanks said in the second scene. "They didn't have enough wood, so they're going to use spies!"
"Kid Theatre" is a popular segment on Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show." First, Fallon and Michael Keaton took on the kid-written version of "Birdman," and later Channing Tatum did the same with "Magic Mike."
