Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed is expected to return this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he feels "100 percent," according to ESPN's John Keim.
The Redskins tight end has reportedly been dealing with multiple sprains and a concussion, according to Sports Illustrated. Reed suffered an ankle injury against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 4 early in the game and was able to return, but he suffered a fourth quarter concussion that has ruled him out for the past two games.
Since Reed's injury, Washington has lost two straight and will need a win this weekend to stay in the NFC East conversation. The Redskins are finding themselves spinning out of control, and a win Sunday will be the only way to turn it around. Many are criticizing head coach Jay Gruden over his quarterback decisions, and if quarterback Kirk Cousins has another sub-par performance Sunday, fans may call for both their heads.
Reed is a big time weapon for Washington's offense. The third-year tight end has 24 receptions for 278 yards and a touchdown this season. Reed has caught five passes each game he has been on the field this season, and the Redskins will look to target him Sunday against the Buccaneers. It is unclear what wide receiver DeSean Jackson's status will be on Sunday after re-tweaking his hamstring last week, but the addition of Reed will surely help the Redskins offense.
