So long Taekman! "Real Housewives of New York City" star Kristen Taekman revealed Monday that she is saying goodbye to the reality show franchise that made her a household name.
"My experience during my time on RHONY was fantastic and I made some great new friends," Taekman told E! News in a statement. "At this time in my life, I have decided to concentrate on my family and my new business ventures Pop Of Color nail polish and Last Night's Look, my fashion blog. I will remain a Housewife and part of an amazing franchise forever and that is what is important. "
The reality star joined that franchise in season six and starred alongside some of the show's main stars, including Bethenny Frankel, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Heather Thomson, and newcomer Dorinda Medley.
Although not reported, Taekman's departure could be linked this summer's Ashely Madison scandal. As previously reported by HNGN, the reality star's husband, Josh Taekman, admitted to signing up for an Ashley Madison account after his name was linked as one of the members of the adultery website that assist married individuals in finding someone to have an affair with.
According to The Daily Mail, Josh signed up for the website in June 2011 and since then spent thousands of dollars on the website in multiple transactions. He reportedly had 62 paid transactions.
"I signed up for the site foolishly and ignorantly with a group of friends and I deeply apologize for any embarrassment or pain I have brought to my wife and family," he told People Magazine in August about using the website. "We both look forward to moving past this and getting on with our lives."
The married couple share two children together, five-year-old son Cassius and two-year-old daughter Kingsley.
