Apple is currently riding on the release of the latest generation of its flagship lineup of smartphones, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, which were both released to the public in late September. Despite the very recent unveiling of the new iPhones, its never too early to consider what people want from the next generation of iPhones.
Recent reports from analysts who have consulted with retailers and manufacturers indicate that Apple is listening to fans recommendations and pleas for a larger display screen of close to 5-inches. With the company listening to fan's wishes, here are a few more popular wishes from fans that Apple might do well to listen to.
Water and Dust Resistance: Samsung's Galaxy S4 Active showed the world that smartphones can be both durable and still contain all the functions one needs in a device. If Apple were to make its next phone as water and dust proof as its competitor's Active model it could appeal to the market for those who intend on putting their iPhone through some wear and tear. Currently the only way to do that is to purchase a third party case or switch to an Android device.
IR Blaster for Apple TV: Again, this is something that's been available on Android devices for quite sometime but, when it works it works. The Galaxy S4, HTC One and LG G2 all have a built-in IR blaster that allows the devices to control a television set from their smartphone. Apple TV has been making a push to be more of a staple in the living room but has faced stiff competition form Roku and the Chromecast. Adding this feature to the iPhone could make Apple TV a bit more appealing.
128 GB Model: The iPhone 5S was rumored to debut a larger capacity model but the company decided to cap the device at 64GB. With the Touch ID fingerprint scanner on the iPhone 5S, Apple is encouraging people to keep more information on their smartphone now that it's secure. Perhaps an updated model of the iPhone would do well to increase the capacity that users can keep on the device.
