J.K. Rowling has been doing the interview circuit for her latest Cormoran Strike crime novel series, which was written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, when she revealed that she had plans to write a children's book once again.
"I will definitely write more novels as J.K. Rowling. Novels in the plural, I have so many ideas. I have an idea for a children's book. I have written part of a children's book that I really love, so I am definitely going to finish that," the author told BBC Radio 2.
While Rowling did sound excited about her upcoming projects, she said she was not going to give "an absolute date" because she was already busy enough, referring to the two new "Harry Potter" projects that she is working on.
Rowling co-wrote the upcoming play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" that is set to premiere on London's West End in 2016. The play was previously thought to be a prequel about Harry's life before he found out he was a wizard, but it was revealed to be a sequel that takes place 19 years after the events in the final "Harry Potter" book, "The Deathly Hallows."
She also wrote the screenplay for the upcoming film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" starring Eddie Redmayne. The film is set 70 years before the events in the "Harry Potter" series and follows the story of magizoologist Newt Scamander as he travels to New York City. The film has been called "neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series" by Rowling "but an extension of the wizarding world," according to Entertainment Weekly.
