Ozzy Osbourne Returns To Alamo To Apologize For 1982 Urination Incident (PHOTOS)

Ozzy Osbourne returned to the Alamo for the first time nearly 33 years after his infamous urination incident, and he finally made plans to apologize for his actions.

Osbourne visited San Antonio Thursday to film footage for his new History Channel show so he could officially apologize for the 1982 incident, according to San Antonio Express News. The 66-year-old heavy metal icon didn't want people to know what time he would be arriving at the Alamo Cenotaph, which is the monument he peed on, as he wanted to keep the spectacle to a minimum. He was visiting the city with his son Jack and just the History Channel crew, but once news broke that he'd be making this apology, fans knew they had to be there.

Osbourne arrived at the historic building at around 4 p.m. local time, according to the New York Daily News. He was surrounded by more than 100 cheering fans and was even joined by Alamo expert and McMurry University professor Stephen L. Hardin.

Hardin said that Osbourne hardly said anything during the 10 minutes he was there, and nobody heard him apologize, even though those were his intentions. The History Channel crew even stopped filming at this time.

While everyone was waiting for a public apology, Osbourne said nothing, according to Kens 5. Apparently, the apology was specifically for the new show where he and Jack travel the world, and it looks like we will have to wait until that airs to officially hear what he has to say.

Osbourne had been banned from performing in this city following his arrest, and although this would have been his first time officially apologizing, it's not the first time he tried. Ten years after it happened, he offered the Daughters of the Republican of Texas, who maintain the Cenotaph, $10,000 to get rid of the probation, according to Entertainment Weekly. They had pardoned him for his actions after this generous offer, but he had never come out and truly said sorry.

"He was drunk. Ozzy was super drunk and he had a bladder problem," concert promoter Greg Wilson said in 1992. "You know, I don't think anyone would have even noticed what he was doing except that he was doing a photo shoot with the English music magazine Melody Maker and he was dressed in pink tights and ballerina shoes. He wandered over to the side of the statue and there he went."
