'Angry Birds Go!': Rovio Gives 'Angry Birds' The 'Mario Kart' Treatment In New Racing Game? (GAMEPLAY TRAILER)

Rovio Entertainment has announced their newest installment to the "Angry Birds" franchise, and it's not another "Star Wars" game!

This time around, game developers have brought you to a 3D Piggy Island for racing adventures in the new title "Angry Birds Go!" The free app will be available for the iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry 10 on Dec. 11.

Check out the official game description below according to the "Angry Bird Go!" website:

Ready...Set...ANGRY BIRDS GO!

Feel the rush as you fling those freewheeling birds and piggies down the track at breakneck speed, with plenty of twists and turns in a thrilling race to the finish line!

But look out for hazardous roads, mischievous opponents riding your tail and special powers to put the race leader behind the pack. And go from soapbox car to supercar by upgrading your ride.

Plus, the Angry Birds world comes alive in rich, colorful 3D for the first-time ever! So you can see the birds and pigs from every angle and experience Piggy Island in an amazing new way!

"Angry Birds Go!" will also give players a new way to play on their tablets. Rovio Entertainment has teamed up with toy company Hasbro to create "Angry Bird" Telepods. According to the "Angry Bird Go!" website, players will be able to place the Telepod on the camera to scan new cars into the game. Rovio Entertainment also used the Telepod technology in "Angry Birds Star Wars II."

The new game's countdown will begin on Oct. 31, and "Angry Birds Go!" has promised more surprises along the way. The game looks pretty cool in the newly released trailer, though I have to admit it does look awfully similar to the past "Mario Kart" games released by Nintendo.
