Off-Duty Postal Worker Shot By Police Impersonators In New Jersey (BREAKING)

An off-duty postal worker was shot early Thursday morning after he was reportedly pulled over by two possible police impersonators.

The incident occurred at 18th Avenue and Winans Avenue in Newark a little before 4 a.m., according to ABC's Albany News10.

The postal worker sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital, where he was last reported to be in stable condition.

The two suspects were last seen fleeing the scene in a white Ford Crown Victoria, reported ABC 7. An investigation is underway, and authorities believe that the suspects are possibly police impersonators.

Beyond the description of their car and the fact that they may still be in police uniform, there are no details about the shooters, according to CBS New York.

No arrests have been made.

Newark saw a lot of action early Thursday morning. Earlier that day, police report that a Newark officer shot an armed suspect who had attempted to rob a gas station.
