Florida Woman Arrested After Being Videotaped Stuffing $1,300 Yorkie Into Purse (VIDEO)

Police have arrested a woman who was caught on video stealing a $1,300 Yorkie puppy at a pet shop in Orlando, Fla., stuffing it into her purse and leaving without paying.

Carolina Mejia Urbina, 25, was casually roaming around the pet store called The Puppy Stop Wednesday at around 5 p.m. She is seen looking over her shoulders a few times before committing the act.

"I was mopping the floor, and I had my guard down," said Donald Charles Glatz, the store's owner, according to ABC News. "I saw her quickly leave, but it was around 6:30 when we were doing our daily puppy counts that I realized we had a missing Yorkie."

Glatz added that they immediately watched security footage from the store, where they saw the woman snatch the Yorkie puppy, so they immediately called the authorities.

The suspect eventually called the store at about 11 p.m. She confessed to stealing the puppy from the store, apologized, and then said she left it at a dumpster located behind the store.

"She said she was intoxicated, she didn't mean to do it," Charles' wife Victoria said, according to The Orlando Sentinel. The puppy was found inside a reusable grocery bag, which was tied so it was unable to break free from it.

Victoria kept texting Mejia Urbina all the way through Thursday to try and convince her to meet up with her at a café located in South Mills Avenue. Police officers were waiting and arrested her once she arrived.

Mejia Urbina is currently held at the Orange County Jail under a $2,500 bond and will face charges on grand theft.
