The "Bridge of Spies" premiere in Paris on Nov. 15 has been cancelled in the wake of the devastating terrorist attacks that shook the French capital to its very core Friday.
"In light of the tragedy in Paris, we have canceled our scheduled film events. Further, we stand with the people of Paris and our thoughts go out to all those affected by these horrible events," Fox said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Steven Spielberg, director of the Cold War drama-thriller, was in Germany for the film's premiere in Berlin and was on his way to Paris when the terrorist attacks took place, Deadline reported.
"Bridge of Spies" follows the story James B. Donovan (Tom Hanks), the lawyer who negotiated the exchange of captured American U2 pilot Francis Gary Powers for convicted Russian spy Rudolf Abel.
More than 150 people were killed in a series of coordinated terrorist attacks at the Bataclan Theater in Paris on Friday during American rock band Eagles of Death Metal's concert and suicide bombings in the French capital, as HNGN previously reported.
